Bake in the  preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until the sponge is golden brown  and has begun to shrink from the edges of the tin.   Trim one short edge of the sponge with  a sharp knife, about 1 inch in from the edge, making sure you do not  cut it all the way through

Pudding was a raspberry trifle which consisted of a sponge base, I made a fatless sponge of 1 egg, 25g sugar and 25g SR flour, cut out circles and put them in whisky tumblers and dowsed them in rum. custard, duck, jelly, Marks and Spencer, prawns, rum, sponge, trifle 1 egg
