Fruit Scones

The best recipe I've come across to date is from the one and only, Mary Berry. Serve as fresh as possible, cut in half and spread generously with your favourite jam (mine is raspberry) and top with a good spoonful of thick cream

I used a recipe from Mary Berry's Baking Bible and it worked really well. At first I thought they were not sweet enough even with the sultanas in but, when adding the jam to them, they are just perfect

Cakes from Wales...

The Mary Berry recipe I used was very easy to follow and quick and simple to make up. A touch of orange juice or zest, variations on the fruit - perhaps cherries and sultanas, or dried cranberries, maybe some more spice or for a more decadent treat even some chopped chocolate
