The chips and peppercorn sauce were good, but I think I would have appreciated some mushrooms or some other kind of veg to accompany it

The grounds were lovely and leafy, with an allotment on site for extra fresh veggies and herbs. There was a choice of garlic & chill, natural or au gratin, all coming with sides of garden leaves, smoked prawns, crayfish and new potatoes
